Our School Day

The Daily Routine

Arrival at school

  • If you are arriving by car, please note that there is no dropping off or parking on the school grounds between 8.30 and 9.00 am or between 3.00 and 3.30 pm
  • Staff are on duty and the doors open at 8.40am.
  • The school day is 6 hours and 30 minutes long meaning children receive 32 hours and 30 minutes education each week.
  • The school day starts with registers at 8:45 a.m. and the school day ends at 3.15 p.m.

Between 8.40am and 8.45am

  • Robins and Kingfishers need to go through the hall door and then to class. A member of staff will welcome them.
  • Eagles enter through the front gate, turn right and come through their fire escape
  • In the event of poor weather children should not arrive at school before 8.40am.

Late arrivals

  • After 8:45am, children should be taken to the school office so that their name can be marked in the register.

We request that parents do not come into school at the start of the day unless there is an urgent need to talk to a member of staff

Reading books should be dropped off on Friday and new books collected on a Monday.

Once in the classroom, the children place their book bag in their relevant group drawer and the contents of their book bags into the relevant boxes. Reply slips and envelopes containing money should be put in the red drop-box outside the school office.

Please ensure that any items brought from home such as lunch boxes, water bottles and book bags are clearly labelled with the child's name and class.

When children have sorted out their bags and/or homework books they will join in with an activity decided by their teacher until registration.

The end of the day

  • Parents/Carers should collect children at 3:15
  • Parents should always let school staff (admin and classteacher) know via the the school office, if arrangements for collecting their child at the end of the day are changed e.g. a different person is collecting the child or the child is going home with a friend.
  • Robins and Kingfishers should be collected from the hall/main door.
  • Children in Eagles class will leave via their front gate. They should return to their class teacher if there parent does not arrive to collect them.
